We provide a wide variety of ways for individuals and families to use their time, talents and treasures to serve and support in our church, in our local community and beyond!  

Donation Opportunities

You don’t have to be a member of Risen Savior to donate items towards the following causes!  Just bring them to the church office on the Southwest side of the church!  We’ll make sure your donations get to the appropriate organizations!
 
 
SAVE BOXTOPS & LABELS FOR EDUCATION – The Risen Savior congregation supports Gammon Elementary by saving Boxtops & Labels for Education. 
 
YOUR OLD EYEGLASSES NEEDED! – Bring your used eyeglasses, sunglasses and reading glasses to support MOST Ministries and their efforts. MOST Ministries
FOOD DRIVE  – We support a local church, Grace Lutheran,  with non-perishable food items for their food pantry to help serve those in need in their community.  
 
BOOK DONATIONS FOR UNION RESCUE MISSION – The Union Rescue Mission’s NewLeaf Mercantile turns donated books, CDs and DVDs (they also accept VHS tapes) into jobs, meals and services for homeless men.

Opportunities to Serve

FAITHFUL SERVANTS –Multiple opportunities are available for members to  assist with Sunday morning worship!
Training is provided for ushers, greeters, communion assistants, scripture readers and more! 
 
LUTHERAN HOUR RADIO BROADCASTS – Our Adult Sunday School donations go towards sponsoring a monthly Lutheran Hour Radio Broadcasts  heard on KAWZ (88.7FM) at 9:00 a.m. or KFTI (1070AM) at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings.  Lutheran Hour Ministries
 

  LENTEN & ADVENT OFFERINGS – Offerings collected during these services are sent to agencies outside of Risen Savior such as:  POBLOApple of His EyeLutherans for LifeLutheran World Relief, Lutheran Student Center at WSU

WICHITA CHILDREN’S HOME – We provide a Meal Ministry to the Bridges Group at Wichita Children’s Home. We support the staff and young adults at BRIDGES by providing a meal for approximately 15 young adults for a six week class; during which they enjoy fellowship for the first hour and then cover the topic led by a case worker the next. Individuals, families or Connect Groups can volunteer to provide food.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES –
Members can help with nursery attendants during worship, Sunday School teachers, Children’s Church Leaders and youth activities!  All those who work with youth under 18 must complete our Child Protection Training.  
 
CUB & BOY SCOUTS – Cub Scouts, Pack 3510 and Boy Scout, Troop 510 meet on Monday evenings at Risen Savior. 
 
LOVE INC – Risen Savior works in cooperation of Love INC, a network of churches that links church ministries and volunteers to people in need, a cooperative effort between churches and community agencies to provide effective help for the disadvantaged.  Love Inc.  
 
FAITH COMES BY HEARING –Once a year we collect donations for Military BibleSticks which reach service men and women, who are deployed in some of the most dangerous areas of the world, with God’s Word in audio – it can go with them and sustain them in even the most difficult circumstances. Military Bible Stick 
MUSIC MINISTRIES – We have many ways to serve through music!  Members can audition for our Praise Team or participate in Praise Choir & Bell Choir.  We’ve got Children’s & Preschool Choir too!
 
GAMMON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – We have a “GO” Team (Gammon Outreach) whose passion is to support our community school – Gammon Elementary through teacher, student and facility support! 
 
LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF – Currently we  have a group of women who sew quilt squares to make quilt tops for LWR.  In the past we have collected items to make hygiene kits.    
 
This year (2017) Risen Savior will be hosting the Lutheran World Relief Truck Pick-up on October 3.
 
“FEEDING YOUR FAITH” MEAL & BIBLE STUDY AT CROSSOVER RECOVERY CENTER – Risen Savior provides a meal and recovery focused Bible study to men and women working on their recovery from drug & alcohol addictions on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at CrossOver Recovery Center.  
 
VISIT LOCAL CARE CENTERS – Several times a year our youth go to local senior care homes to sing and spend time with the residents!
